MTRJ to LC - Communication Problem

I'm testing a MTRJ to LC connector using a 4208vl switch which contains a J8763A (12 port 100-fx base MTRJ) module to a 4101gl which contains a J4893A (6 port gbic trans) module. I'm having a hard time getting the two to talk...I'm sure I'm missing something here. I'm kind of new to MTRJ's so if anyone can help me out here it would be much appreciated. If you need more info please address.

What kind of transceivers are you using in the 4101gl switch ?

Thanks for the reply Gerhard. I'm running J4859C 1000-LX gbic transceivers.

That specific will not work. You should look for a J9054B transceiver.
