You probably aren't using the correct device driver. Download the correct driver and do a manual install pointing to the correct driver.

After a reformat on the hard drive nothing works right. How do I get my modem to be found. I tried removing it from Device manager and it stays gone at restart. I tried manual install and it's not found by my internet service program, even though device manager says it's working. Can anyone help me?

Is your modem a separate card or did it come as part of the system? In the first case go to the website of the maker of the card to get the driver. In the second case you need to go to the PC maker's website.

Install the correct driver and then remove and reinstall your ISP software.

Ron
