Does anyone know if you can configure the 7102dl firewall as a transparent firewall, so it wouldn't need any IP addresses?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

What do you mean by: No IPs required ? you mean NAT ?

What exactly you want to achieve ?

Good Luck !!!

I would want the firewall act like a bridge, echoing all the packets from eth1 to eth2, but doing firewall type of filtering in between.

Like described here:
http://www.securityfocus.com/infocus/1737

Hi

I don't think its possible to make the ProCurve SR Router/Firewall acting in L2 or transparent mode.

With advanced routers that has Intrusion Detection feature and Multiple Security Zones its possible like Juniper, Fortinet ones.

Anyway, if you have currently a ProCurve firewall, and you want to achieve something in your network, please share it with us, and hopefully we will find a solution for it.

Good Luck !!!
