We just got a Procurve 5300 in our dorm and I would like to know if there is a way to split up the traffic comming in on on port an going out on two ports.
The reason is that we have to 4 Mbit modems an I would like to equally split the trafffic on them.
The configuration is that all the trafffic is comming in on a 1Gbit interface and going out on 2 100Mbit interaces.
Any help would be appreciated!

thanks chris

hi

thanks for the reply!
if you mean trunking an meshing i have read about that before but i don't think it would solve my problem.

trunking only works if the destination has the same ip on both links right?

my setup here is that i have a server that filters all the traffic and then sends all the outgoing requests over one interface to the switch. my two modems are connected to the switch aswell but the routers on the other side of the modems have different ips.

is it possible to assign an ip to a switchport?

thanks again
chris
