Help Needed (redundancy Switch)??

Dears,

I am really new here, this is my first post in this forum.

Apparently I need some experts help so here it goes.

I have an "HP procurve switch 3500yl-24g (j8692a)" as a core switch, i was requested to implement a redundant core switch.

And I am really confused what to choose.

So if anyone have a suggestions on which switch should i use to use it as a redundancy for my switch?

Another 3500yl?

Are you running any layer 3 services on this switch?

Hi,

If you currently have a 3500 and it handles the requirements (except for the redundancy), I would opt for a stack of 2 3800 switches. Simple to configure, no vrrp, simple trunks to access switches.

Just firmware updates will require downtime,
