This is more an HPUX problem than a networking problem. I suggest you repost in

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/categoryhome.do?categoryId=156

Make sure you either link to this thread or tell them that it shows up on the console and in telnets. I'm sure Clay or one of the other super HPUX hats will know what it is.

Ron

I have two Itanium servers HPUX11i in cluster configuration that are broadcasting "Communication has been lost" message every minute. The time stamp is showing at EST, we have switched the timezone in set_parms to MST. The syslogs are showing no errors.

What could be causing this broadcast message?

Bobby

Broadcast? To what port number?

Is there a tape library involved?

Ron

The message does not say a port or ip address. The archive (tape library) has not been set up yet.
Bobby
Guess we have a difference in definitions. How exactly are you receiving/reading/seeing this message? Is this showing up on the console?

Ron

The broadcast message shows up on the console or any telnet session. The cluster runs fine. I see no errors in the system log.
