Yes, it is definitely the fire wall. I wish that there were better documentation about this. Like "Don't turn on the firewall." Our server support people insist on it. A packet capture revealed the following 32 ports used by the PCM client and server: yuck.

1291
1305
1307
1308
1309
1310
1311
1312
1314
1315
1316
1317
2497
2498
3908
4431
4435
4535
4547
4548
4549
4550
4551
4553
4554
4574
4583
7755
7756
7757
7758
7759

When I attempt to connect to PCM + under XP to download the client at port 8040, I get "server not found" My browser is IE under XP

When I connect to the same server and port, with a macintosh running firefox, I get the webpage, and I can download the install.exe file.

This occurs with other windows machines, and occurs when using firefox under XP as well.

I wouldn't care, but after I installed the client, I'm not getting any data. The main window says "no context defined" so I'm thinking that I'm not properly connected to the server.

I suspect your first problem is proxy settings and the second problem is firewall settings.

I have PCM+ installed on an XP/SP2 box and can connect from other XP/SP2 boxes.
