This is going to sounds really silly BUT, the PC isnt on a wired connection to the same switch as well is it?

We have had this here once before and it caused the switch to stop responding everytime the person connected thier wireless card!!!

Also, does the switch stop responding as soon as the Access point is plugged in, or is it when a machine makes a wireless connection to the access point?

Cheers

Hi,

We have problems between a HP ProCurve 2650 and a Dell Wireless 4350 Access Point.
This Access Point was connected in the past to a switch and it was working correctly.

Two days ago, we had tried to connect it to a 2650 switch and the problem appeared: when we connect the access point, the switch halts and stops responding, leaving all the ports without connectivity.

We have tried several solutions:
1. Disable lacp in the interface of the switch where we connect the Access Point.
2. Fix the speed and duplex mode of the port.

But nothing works.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Anabel.

I wouldn't rule out that the access point has developed a short or something like that which is causing the switch to stop responding like that.

Have you tried testing with different pacth cables and / or another switch?
