I just had this exact problem bite me. Everything was working fine until I went to cp.home, and it had been working fine for about 15+ days. Even thruput was acceptable. Plus I have coverage over both floors of my house. It's working great. Until I went to cp.home. Then all open connections hung or died or both. No new pages could be opened. And UDP based programs just went silent.

OK, is anyong at HP/Compaq looking at this? C'mon guys, you created a firmware in 2003 for this, so you are still supporting it. Please chime in and help us out with a fix for this problem. You can't let this last "patch" be the last one you release, since it effectively "broke" the device.

Does anyone who is having problems like this with the CP-2w on 2.09 firmware have any solutions? Or know what the problem is?

CP-2W setup page hangs

I upgraded to the latest firmware (2.09) and have noticed a new problem. The router will work fine for weeks, and I can access the status page (http://cp.home/) for the first day or two after a fresh reboot of the router. Then after that, when I try to go to the status page, the router will hang, and the status page will not show up (just blank page). I have to physically unplug the router, wait 20 seconds then plug the power back in for it to work again. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm using a Compaq WL200 multiport wifi adapter, a compaq WL100 PCMCIA adapter and a Dling 650+ PCMCIA adater.

also the speed of the CP-2W is slower then other wireless routers I've used in the past. If I hook up two computers throug the 100mbps wired ports and copy a large file, I typically get 40-50 mbps rate with the CP-2W, with a SMC wireless router I typically get 75-80mbps, and with a belkin wireless router I also get 75-80mbps throughput using the same 2 computers, copying the same file.

Wireless throughput with the CP-2W is also about 1/2 of the SMC and Belkin routers.

Reason I moved to the CP-2W is because my Compaq WL200 adapter would hang the SMC and belking routers about every 24 to 48 hours.

Has anyone replied with any news about fixing this problem? What have you done? I recently upgraded to 2.09 and am now having the same problems. According to one link I read though, this problem was supposedly fixed in 2.08 and not supposed to be in 2.09. What's the deal? Anyone know?

Yes. I am having the same problems (status page not showing) ... ALSO i use a VPN for work (OUT) through this router and it is VERY unreliable. I am going to try to re-install an older version of the firmware that I found lying around (SP19335) and see how i get on.. (Since there are several other posts about people having similar problems to me since instaling 2.09 )I Will post results here..

Same thing happens to me. I am running a Westell DSL modem in the Bridged mode through the CP-2W. Works fine for about a day then it hangs and you can't do anything unless you unplug it and plug it back in. I have noticed the same thing with the blank page when you go to http://cp.home after about 12 hours of usage. Oh and as far as speed goes I can only get about 12mbps through the wired ports when transfering files (I thought this was supposed to be 100/10 mbps through the wired switches??) and I can get the max of 11mbps through the wireless connections.

I needed to set up the virtual server portion in my cp-2w last night and went to http://cp.home as normal. Of course, since loading the latest firmware from earlier this year you can't go to cp.home after you've been online for any length of time since it throws the cp-2w into some kind of failure mode or loop and everything stops until you power cycle the thing.

I like the cp-2w. It's a great little device, and for the price I got it for I'm really pleased with it. Coverage on both floors of the two story house here, good throughput on the wireless side (I don't use the hub).

I just wish they'd fix the problem they appear to have introduced a couple of revisions ago. The 2.09 update said it was supposed to have fixed the problem of hanging admin pages that was in 2.08.

Will someone fix this? please?

Same setup, same firmware. I'm just echoing the complaint. This has been a problem with the CP-2W from the beginning, and I think it's partly due to the fact that the router can't tell when a network and wireless connection-with 2 IP addresses-originate from the same computer, which should have administrative access (this is a non-techie talking).

I have the same problem with the CP-2W home page not displaying and the CP-2W hanging.
It has happenes between 2 days and a week after rebooting the CP-2W. This happens both with wireless and wired connections at the same time.

Installing SP23456 (V2.09 firmware) did not help.
