Network utilization by IP address

I've seen others post non-HP questions here so I thought give it a try.

I support a fairly large WAN (100 sites / 4000+ users). All Internet traffic goes thru a firewall at the main site.

I'm looking for a product that will count packets and allow me to report top bandwidth users for a particular time period, both inside and outside. That is, who are the top inside users, and what are the top outside sites that people go to.

Any ideas? A normal packet sniffer that trends based on MAC addresses won't do the job.

Hi!

Does the firewall supports SNMP (e.g. Cisco PIX) or has logfile(s) with some useful informations?
Then you can use HP OV Performance Insight which is a powerful reporting engine. You can collect, calculate and report any SNMP, RMON, RMON2 and ASCII-based data like csv files, log files etc. There a ReportPacks delivered with the product which might address your needs or you can develope your own solution.
