topic Evo N1000v Bluetooth Problems in Communications and Wireless

I am having a great deal of difficulty in setting up a Bluetooth connection on a Compaq Evo N1000v, running Windows XP Professional.

I am trying to primarily connect a SIEMENS S55 mobile phone to the laptop, but with no success. I can access it through Infra-Red, though.

I have a network connection (WinXP Pro) for Bluetooth which was already set-up -- using normal LAN settings 192.168.0.1 (also tried on Automatic detection), and connecting through a "Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver". This connection, however, will not enable at all, reporting "Network Cable is Unplugged". I therefore take it that the connection isn't correctly set-up in some part, as Bluetooth requires no cabling. Or is it set-up completely incorrectly, as I have never used Bluetooth before. :)

Wireless LAN SoftPaqs numbers SP22987 and SP23031 have been installed and re-installed cleanly, yet it still does not work. Also "Compaq Client Manager" states there is no "Wireless Network Card Present". "My Bluetooth Places" is inexplorable, and the right-click option "Setup" does nothing.

Any help in this area would be very greatful, as I have been unable to find help in this area in the Compaq/HP forums and FAQs. SIEMENS help section only refers to the mobile phone itself, and I feel this is a problem with the Laptop's Bluetooth connection.

Thank you,
Jon Nolan
