I had a similiar problem, and found that the drivers that came with my new laptop are no good. The instructions say to install the new drivers provided first thing, then it commenced to NOT WORK. So, after reverting to older drivers, it then worked.

I trust you already checked the network settings on the card after the re-install and made sure they coincide with the router's settings. Channel, RTS threshold, WEP (on/off) ...

Hope that helps...
-Erik

I am running WinXP.
Got my Compaq 2 weeks ago.
I was working on my computer last night and I could not connect to the internet, it would give me a 404 message. I struggled with it, ended up using the recovery CD's to just bring the laptop back to it's original state. I went through everything installed everything and now I cannot connect to the internet through the Wireless Adapter. I can connect through a LAN conection. My Wireless adapter connects to my Dell 1844, I can go to the router's admin page...but I cannot get on the internet. I have tried everything, from installing/uninstalling drivers to everything else...I get an IP and everything one my WLAN adapter, but it just will NOT connect to the internet. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, I haven't tried reverting back yet...but I will do that tonight. I have checked the Card vs. the Router and everything looks good on that end. I can hit the router's web admin, so the Wireless card is functioning, but I just can't get through the router to the internet.
