Your wireless PCI cards aren't compatible with the PCI bus version on your motherboard.

You can check PCI bus and PCI card version on your wireless pci card box and the manual or datasheet of your computer.

If wireless PCI bus version is newer than PCI bus version of the motherboard.

Yours cards will never be detected.

Regards.

Hi,

I recently bought a wireless Belkin router so that i could setup a wireless network in my home. Its a high speed 802.11g router model # F5D7231-4. This has been setup and it works fine on my main pc(which is not a compaq). I also bought 2 belkin wireless network asapter cards(model # F5D7001). I first run the install from the cd provided, as instructed, on my compaq pc. Then when the pc shuts down i connect the network adapter in an empty PCI slot. When i start the pc up it doesnt recognize the new hardware like its suposed to. I tried running the add a new hardware wizard but that didnt find anything either. I have tried all my PCI slots. My Pc is currently connected via a cable to the router and is working fine. What could be the problem?

Ps:
I am running Windows XP on all pcs. I have a Compaq deskpro 4000 6266MMX.
