      <description>"Slow speed &amp;amp; intermittent disconnection" might also be caused by a defective cable. I once had a UTP cable running under a door (yes, I know, not really the standard way of cabling). Because of the friction with the door, the cable was damaged,but not completely interrupt. Hence the connection WAS functional, but the average speed was below 200 kbps and also accompanied by random disconnections. Go figure ...</description>

      <description>here is my question. i am using a laptop from a friend of mines and i took it home with me. i am trying to get online with it. it has wireless internet. i need to know why is it not letting me go online. i check to see the status on it and it tells me i have no connection. i really wanna buy this computer from this person but the thing is i dont know if i should b/c it doesnt work in my house. please help me. should i try to connect it to my cable modem.</description>

      <description>Letisha,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Your problem is not related to the original post, it would be better if you opened your own thread.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also you don't mention anywhere that you have a wireless router or access point.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The laptop may have a wireless network adapter, but it needs a wireless network to connect to.</description>
