You ask if I tried listening to the same news broadcasts on a PC attached using a wired ethernet connection? Answer is Yes. No problem when listening on a regular PC.
However, as indicted, I have two Wireless Access Points. I have now repositioned one of them closer, (ca. 12 feet, through one wooden wall) and obviously achieve a stronger signal/connection to the iPAQ (it shows mostly 3 green bars, occasionally fluctuating down to 2). So this is very much more stable, only disconnecting once so far.
Do you feel that it is purely a signal issue, or is there an issue about WAP or other software problem. Many thanks for taking an interest :-)

My rx3115 gets a successful WPA-PSK /TKIP protected (strong password) WiFi connection with our D-Link DWL-2100AP Access Point.
I use MS IE to access the BBC Website to listen to News broadcasts, using MS Media Player.
To say the least, the connection is flaky, getting interrupted every 2 to 5 minutes for a variety of reasons: buffering, locating and disconnecting completely.
I use a directional antenna aimed at the iPAQ through wooden walls, a distance of 25 feet.
Signal strength shows 2 to green bars.
I get the same result with a newer Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router WRT54GC, so I believe this is an iPAQ or Software related issue.
I would really appreciate any help you can give to resolve this issue: could it be OS related, or is there an upgrade to the WiFi software? Many thanks = Diana

Cartainly sounds like signal strength, which does have a direct effect on wireless connection speed - the reason behind the question on wired ethernet was to eliminate the possibility of a slow internet connection.
