Hi Tony

Usually users do not always bother to disconnect from wireless connections when they turn off or leave their stations.

On an Radio Port nearing its maximum number of stations, an unterminated association can prevent a new station from connecting to the
wireless network.

So i think what you need is to configure the Inactivity Timeout:

The time that a station can be idle before reassociating is the inactivity timeout and is configured for all stations on a particular WLAN. To set this time, follow
these steps:
1. Access the WLANâ s Edit screen.
2. Under Advanced, enter a value between 60 and 86400 seconds (one day) in the Inactivity Timeout field.
The default timeout is 1800 seconds (30 minutes).

Good Luck !!!

Hi,

I am using IDM 2 in conjunction with a J9001A wireless module and Microsoft radius server. I have an issue with wireless stations failing to connect using web authentication after a failed disconnect. The web authentication screen presents the user with a disconnect option, which they are supposed to click when they finish their session. As I'm sure you all know, users never do what they are supposed to do, they never click disconnect, and as a result, the wireless station goes into a kind of limbo, and is unable to re-authenticate. I have to reload the J9001A to completely clear the connection. Is there any way of resolving this ?

Thanks,

Tony.

Thanks Mohieddin,

I am having various problems with this module, and nothing I do seems to help it. I am beginning to suspect the module is faulty, and asked HP to replace it. They advised me to go to the latest firmware on the 5308, which I will do tonight, but I don't hold out much hope.

Tony.
