I contacted HP and recieved a return authorization for my laptop. While cleaning (uninstalling) some of the software I had to reboot and bam! my Broadcom adapter shows up and I connect to my wireless network. I only have about a month left on my warranty so I sent it in anyway with a note descibing the problem. There have been posts claiming it is a power issue. I typically plug my laptop in at work or home when using it. Sometimes I will run the battery down just to keep it good.
