Sounds good... here's the network driver page. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=316715&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316713&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093#11395

It looks like you'll have to identify whether you have a broadcom or an intel card.

I have a HP Compaq Desktop D503S 2.4ghz. I cannot get my Broadband connection working through the Ethernet port. When I plug in my cable, the lights are on (around the port) however the system is not picking the connection. I noticed that through my hardware scanm the Ethernet Controller has a question mark against it. How do I correct this issue?
Anither message I find is "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"

Well, this isn't a wireless card issue, and without knowing which OS and specifically which network card you have (since I can't find a reference to a D503s anywhere), you probably need a driver for your network card.

This driver -- http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=PSG_I19128-102605&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=408710 -- is probably the most common for late-model HP units.

Thanks Alan
Your information has led me to learn some valuable information and links. I have since discovered that the system model I have is in fact a HP d530 SFF(DU875PA).

I have installed a network card however ideally I wanted to get the defaul ethernet controller working to keep the slot free for other PCI cards.

I will continue to search for the correct driver. The one you recommended did not work.
Persistance beats resistance.
Thanks
