Hi,

Yes, you need Montecito for HT, Madison is single thread.

These might help:

http://h20338.www2.hp.com/hpux11i/downloads/Solvingjavaperforma.pdf

http://www.filibeto.org/unix/hp-ux/lib/kernel/hp-ux-11.31-logical-processors-HT-4AA0-7695ENW.pdf

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=at&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=88837&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=88837&objectID=c01066005

Rgds,

hyperthreads on rx4640

I have an rx4640 running HP-UX 11.23. I wanted to know if this server could run hyperthreads if I upgrade the OS to HP-UX 11.31.

This server has two single core Itanium 2 processors, A9732A. I think they are the "Madison" version, not Monticeto. I have read that hyperthreads can run on Itanium 2 processors, but I have also read that they started with Itanium 2 Monticeto.

Does anyone have an answer?

Thanks

My server won't be able to use hyperthreads, the processor is too old.
