How to get the MP console prompt?
How is it different from ILO?

Hello sanwin
The MP is the Module Processor of machine. You can access to it with ssh or telnet at ip. You can configure ip of MP from local console

The iLO is the same of MP but for web, for access to it you must go with http or https protocol

You can connect a terminal (PC with emulation) to the console port and set up the IP address. Then you can connect via telnet or (if installed) ssh to the MP.

This is in general referred as the graphical interface, set up the same IP (see MP) and connect via your browser. Same functionality (more or less), but different interface.

There two different ways of answer to your Question ..?

are you asking about the direct Console login or remote Console login.?

Remote -Console Login

Normally MP can access through Serial connection or IP based connection.

At first time if you wanted to connect a MP console either you should use a serial cable or you should know the MP LAN default IP address.

As per my knowledge the NAME MP only used for HP Unix Servers and ILO for Proliant Servers and Blade Enclosures.

ILO you can access through http, HTTPS and telnet also.
