You may use the LDAP option for iLO/MP to do some remote and perhaps automated administration. See the manual in Zygmunt Krawczyks posting.

Hi Alexander,

You can configure the MP (current name is iLO MP) settings via DHCP protocol. Look at the doc:

"HP Integrity and HP 9000 Integrated Lights-Out Management Processor Operations Guide"

http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5971-4274_iLO_ops/5971-4274_iLO_ops.pdf

Regards,
Zygmunt
OK. After setting IP parameters, you can configure all other via WEB browser. Read the doc mentioned above.

Hi

I have read the document above and all the proceedures are manual procedures, with out me writing a perl script to access the browser, there doesn't seem to be a xml interface nor does there seem to be any programs to run from dos or linux to manipulate the MP config from the machine.

I am looking at not having to open all the machine individually with a broswer.

Hi

Hadn't thought about that, but after checking the manual, it seems to be only for user admin

-- cut from pdf --
Features Supported by Directory Integration
MP Directory Services functionality enables you to:
â ¢ Authenticate users from a shared, consolidated, scalable user database.
â ¢ Control user privileges (authorization) using the directory service.
â ¢ Use roles in the directory service for group-level administration of MP and MP users.
Installing Directory Services for MP requires extending the directory schema. A Schema Administrator must
complete extending the schema.
The local user database is retained. You can decide not to use directories, use a combination of directories and
local accounts, or use directories exclusively for authentication.
