Is the server's power light green? Are there any error lights on the server?

For a keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) connection, you may need to connect to the console either through the serial port or the LAN cable and setup KVM rather than wired console.

For telnet, you must have a cable plugged into the console port in the back. This is different than the other ports which are controlled by HP-UX after it is booted. If there is a cable, do you know the IP address of the console? This should have been setup when your server was installed.

For a serial connection, you probably need a null-modem cable or adapter. Most serial cables are designed to plug into modems, not servers. To request the console prompt, type ctrl-B
