      <description>hello all&lt;BR /&gt;I like to have a "normal" serial console.&lt;BR /&gt;stick a terminal to connector "console" from the MP card.&lt;BR /&gt;(25pol to three 9pol cable)&lt;BR /&gt;I like to see all output from boot and like to&lt;BR /&gt;login, if the system is up and running with&lt;BR /&gt;HP-UX 11.23&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;second I like to connect a modem to the &lt;BR /&gt;"remote" labeled connector.&lt;BR /&gt;a user must be able to log in via this modem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;have read the documentation, but its not clear to me how to set this up.&lt;BR /&gt;the only thing that I can see on the MP console&lt;BR /&gt;is this:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;        (Use Ctrl-B to return to MP main menu.)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;- - - - - - - - - - Prior Console Output - - - - - - - - - -&lt;BR /&gt;loading section 1&lt;BR /&gt;........... (complete)&lt;BR /&gt;loading symbol table&lt;BR /&gt;loading System Directory(boot.sys) to MFS&lt;BR /&gt;....&lt;BR /&gt;Loading MFSFILES directory (bootfs) to MFS&lt;BR /&gt;...........&lt;BR /&gt;Launching /stand/vmunix&lt;BR /&gt;SIZE: Text:22623K + Data:5457K + BSS:3802K = Total:31882K&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;- - - - - - - - - - - - Live Console - - - - - - - - - - - -&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;no more, hit return, nothing comes.&lt;BR /&gt;modem still not operating.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;any help are welcome.&lt;BR /&gt;J.Brandenburger</description>

      <description>Joerg,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mario is right, you need to specify output device in Boot Maintenance. For the rx2600 you can have only ONE concole device for the boot messages etc, by default this is MP.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So you need to specify serial console and *only* this (pick one of the lines "..UART 9600 N81...")&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Bernhard</description>
