Hi,

set up your ignite server, this will assign the static address.
From EFI shell prompt, type
EFI> lanboot select

Also see this thread:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1109604

Hi all

I would like to do a lan boot on this server to install HPUX11iv2 on it but are unable to find the necessary documentation. I boot my PA-RISC servers with the following command after interrupting the boot precess (boot lan.10.10.10.10 install).

Is there a similar way to boot an Itanium server, because if I choose to boot of the Core Lan A driver it searches for a dhcp server but it doesn't do it on my PA-RISC servers.

I have no DHCP server available, everything runs of static addressing.

Can someone please help.

FYI,

We were discussing this in a different thread.

If you happen to run into a DHCP server issue ( ie some other DHCP answering before the ignite server) then look at configuring and using dbprofile direect lanboot option option in the EFI shell.
Regarding the firmware upgrade:

Log on to the MP and run

MP:CM> sysrev

Make sure the MP firmware is E.02.29 or higher. If, download the ISO image, burn a CD and update. Read and follow the instructions:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=88837&prodNameId=346361&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ux-48470-1

If The fw is lower, tell us.
