rx4640 running 11.23

The system is not booting. The boot menu is empty, it's saying:

Boot Menu
<BOOT list="" empty="">

and doesn't give me any choices to boot. What could have caused this and what can I do to recreate it?

</BOOT>

Hi,

run the EFI shell, locate your fs(x) device.

fs0:> cd efi/hpux

fs0:\EFI\HPUX> hpux

(C) Copyright 1999-2006 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
All rights reserved

HP-UX Boot Loader for IPF -- Revision 2.028

Press Any Key to interrupt Autoboot
...

(don't press any key)

Once the OS is running, use "setboot" to re-create the boot menu (this is one way to do this).

That's it, the entries got deleted. The big question is, why. I think there is a bigger issue with the machine, probably the battery is dying, loosing the EFI boot information.

Everything was fine until the machine was brought down for maintenance for 20 mins and after that, it failed to boot, it "forgot" the boot info.
