From the HP-UX prompt you can also disable autoboot - this will cause the system to stop in EFI boot manager next time you boot:

# setboot -b off

# setboot
Primary bootpath : 0/0/2/0.0.0x0.0x0 (/dev/rdisk/disk5)
HA Alternate bootpath : 0/1/1/0.0x1.0x0 (/dev/rdisk/disk4)
Alternate bootpath :

Autoboot is OFF (disabled)
Try exit from HPUX prompt...
if not working you can always press ctl B
and then cm (command menu) and from there reset the power by "rs"
And you can choose EFI shell from there.
Hope this help.
BR,
Kapil

Once a system passed the selftest it will launch EFI and the EFI boot manager.
Depending on the settings a counter will be startet prior to boot from the primary boot path.
At this point I usually press an arrow key to stop there.
If the system is launching the hpux loader there is another timer prior to load the kernel.
Another chance to stop there.

If the timers are set to zero, you can try to remove the boot disks - this will bring you into the efi shell.
