RX4640 WMI Utilization Provider

Hi, I've a RX4640 with Windows 2003 server x64 that generates the following error:
event id: 4
source: UPService
I suppose it is associated with the version of WMI Utilization Provider installed on the server. The installed vers. of WMI is 1.4.1.1.
Do anyone knows something more? Thanks in advance and best regards.

UPService is Windows Utilization Provider Service. You can find its documentation under \Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\UtilProvider\doc

Thank you Sameer, but actually I wonder how to remove the error. Do you think that could be useful upgradeing the version of WMI? Or do you suppose something different? Thanks a lot.

I would upgrade to the latest version of WMI Utilization Provider which is 1.6.1.1.

I guess the event ID 4 information shows something like "UPService: PDH FAILED" and you would see defect related PDH IO is fixed in the latest version . The details are at

Upgrade to the latest version should get rid of the error.

If you don't use any of the VSE applications then the data samples collected by the UPService are not used.

So if you don't use:

- capacity advisor or
- virtualization manager

Then disable the services in Windows called :

- HP UtilProvider Data Collector
- HP UtilProvider WMI Provider

to avoid the error entries in your log file.
