Yeah I was doing some more reading up on this and I'm not really bothered about having the root disk mirrored. So I will install the OS as normal and then use saconfig to create the logical drives. If i change my mind in the future about mirroring root I can always use MirrorUX.

Shalom,

F8 I believe during boot.

The system has a svga port. Hook up a monitor and keyboard for initial setup.

There will be a prompt for smart array configuration at boot.

SEO

I have finally got round to looking at this and esc 8 is the route from the boot level to set up the logical devices. I also believe that i can use saconfig to do the same task once the server has been built. So is it best to create the logical devices from the boot level ( orca ) or use saconfig?

Out of interest is there any particular reason for configuring at boot level?

I have been playing with saconfig and its pretty simple

hi,

saconfig has alot more options for you to configure the array excactly as you want it, so that is my prefered method.

However if you want to install your OS onto the raid set then this is where it comes in handy been able to configure at boot

Andy
