How to install 11.23 on rx4610?

Hi,

how do I install 11.23 on a rx4610?

The most recent document (updated May 2008) at www.hp.com/go/hpuxservermatrix says that it is supported.

The install script from DVD just says "not found" (more to follow, if required).

"not found" is just not enough information.

Normally you put the DVD in and boot from the DVD boot shortcut - that's it.

Did you use a wrong device (not the DVD) by chance?

Just try to capture the output of your next attempt.

Exactly that's what I do.

I put the DVD in (MCOE 2006/09), select "EFI Shell", then the system issues a "map" automatically, selects "fs1:" and tries to run "startup.nsh" which points to "install".
But this is not found.

If I check the content of the DVD, it shows "startup.nsh", "install.efi" and a folder named "EFI" (from what I remember).

But even if I run "install.efi" manually, it comes up with "not found".

I'll provide the original output soon.

Hi Ebbi,

I am afraid I have bad news. It appears the matrix is incorrect. HPUX 11.23(aka 11i v2) is not supported on the rx4610. Only 11.i v1.5(B.11.20) and 11i v1.6(B.11.22) are supported on the rx4610.

Please refer to page 40 of the HP-UX 11i Version 2 Release Notes, October 2003, Edition 3 for details.

Your documents are from 2002 and 2003 and mine is from 2008.
This is exactly what I want to figure out:

I the document incorrect or did the facts simply change?

Well, I didn't read the question carefully enough - it's a rx46_10_ (not rx4640).
