Updating the firmware is always a good idea ...

What modules are currently installed and what do you want to install?

Use this to get more information:

echo "selclass qualifier memory;info;wait;infolog" | /usr/sbin/cstm

Hello!!

To upgrade memory, just power down the unit, unplug from power, and remove the cpu/memory extender board from the front of the system. Install memory following the numbers in quads, (0A, 0B, 0C, 0D, then 1A, 1B...etc.)

Ensure that higher memory density is in lower number slots, (i.e. 1GB DIMMs are in 0A, 0B, 0C, 0D, and 512MBs go in 1A, 1B, etc.)

Always install memory in quads, (groups of 4,) following the numbering scheme.

Hope this helps.

Ron
hi,

rx4640 is officially support hpux and linux.

Commands that torsten provide earlier is a diagnostics for hpux. You could see current memory configurations like memory loading and dimm size for your server.

If you run linux, unfortunately, there is no other way to do this but to bring you system down to EFI shell and run :

EFI:> info mem

This will also show you the memory configuration.

If this answer your question, really appreciate if you cld assign some points to the responders. Thanks!
