Hello ,
I want to boot from a ghost cd to start my rx2660 server image but the cd didn't boot
please have anu idea or suggestion ?

does the HP integrety server rx2660 support ghost ?

if yes wich boot cd should i use please ?

The question should be

does ghost support the server?

You need a **ia64** boot disk - no idea if ghost can do this.

There are bootable install CD/DVD for all supported OS (HP-UX, Windows, Linux, OpenVMS).

i can boot from smart setup CD for windows , but i can't boot from ghost CD ,
From smart setup menu there is no way to force boot from the ghost CD .

From an ia64 system?

I don't think ghost supports ia64 systems, but I'm not sure.

Your workaround could be to install win and restore your data from the image.

why i want to use ghost for my ia64 server?

because their is a lot of setup done for windows 2003 and also many setup for software installed there , so the data is no important , the most important for us is the setup done .
a ghost or other similar solution will be the best.

The question was not "why" but from what type of system you did pull this image.

Was this a Proliant server (x86 or x64)?

the Iatnium server was installed from original microsoft cd (windows 2003 for i64)
and the setup was done on this machine.

Now i want to backup this system by ghost in case of a disaster .
we cannot just reinstall windows and other software because lot off setup is done on this machine.
