Hi,

while it is possible, often the package is installed on a remote pc/server rather then on the host that run on the cell based server itself, this because when reconfiguration of the complex is done, the partitions need to be be down for most actions. Obvioulsy for monitoring it is usefull to have it running on the complex itself but in case the complex is down and partition management is needed, you need to have access to the nPAR software from a remote pc/server, so you might prepare this now also in case you need it in the future.

-Does the SMH (System Home Page) work fine
on the partition you are trying to get the
nPAR GUI working on ?

- Did the nPAR s/w integrated properly with
the SMH , see in the SMH under the Tools
TAB.

- there is a 'nparinstall.log file , any
errors in it eventually ?

- can you point us to exact the URL of the
nPAR package you downloaded ?
There is a new version out since 15
October :

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1844071&prodNameId=1844072&swEnvOID=1060&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-7820dca73bf84921a2d055fdb3

Kris
