Hi,

You should be able to use Linux RedHat 5 with Xen to run a Windows guest on the RX2600.

In below link you can check if your I/O cards are supported for linux.

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11716_div/11716_div.html

Regards,
Robert-Jan

Whilst you can run the native IA64 versions of RH and Xen Server on rx2600, you cannot run the x86 versions. You *cannot* run ESX server on rx2600 at all. VMware is x86 only - it doesn't work on IA64 or Power or SPARC.

HTH

Duncan

The OS your run in a Xen VM on an IA64 platform needs to be an IA64 OS - Xen on IA64 doesn't "emulate" the x86 architecture.

Of course within those OSs you may be able to run x86 binaries (applictaions) in emulation mode. Certainly the IA64 versions of Red Hat, SUSE and MS W2K3 have x86 emulators - but they can only run apps in the OS, not an OS itself.

HTH

Duncan
