I Installed OS on my superdome via EVA8100 and now the FC that was bootable to load the OS was broken...!!!
how can i change the path of bootable FC and again run the OS?????

Is the server Itanium based or PA-RISC?

Do you have multiple pathes to the EVA LUN?
Did you change the FC HBA only?
Do you use another switch port now?

1-it is itanium based
2-i chanched just FC card.

Did you adjust your zoning (on switch) and presentation (on EVA) to match the new HBA WWN?

If you only replaced the HBA the path will remain the same.

BUT, if the switch and the EVA are not configured to accept the new WWN, you *cannot* connect to the LUN - hence no boot!

I'm sure you have an alternate path (configured).

Try to boot the alternate path.

I have multipath...
but i think the path physically will change???

Why should the path change?

The path depends on the internal path to the slot, the HBA, the switch and the LUN - so the path remains, if you replace the HBA only.

But a new HBA has a new WWN, you need to adjust the switch and the array to allow this new WWN to login.
