      <description>First connect to the local console using a serial cable. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Press Ctrl-B to access the MP menus.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(Depending on the MP version, you may have to login and/or use the CM command to enter the Command Menu at this point. The factory default MP username/password is Admin/Admin.)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Type "LC" to access the MP's LAN Configuration.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Setup the MP LAN configuration to your requirements. (Setting up the MP usernames &amp;amp; passwords is also recommended at this point.)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Connect the LAN cable to the MP's RJ45 port.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Verify you can connect to the MP using the IP address you configured.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Exit the MP menus on the serial connection and disconnect the serial console cable.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Now you have a working MP console over LAN.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;MK</description>
