The 16a model can have 4 cell boards and 4 i/O chassis, so max 4 nPars.

The bigger models can have another computing cabinet and even external I/O chassis.

hi,

it may have 8 slots in the server, but you can only use 4 of them and it can have 4 io chassis. So that means you can only create 4 Npars

http://docstore.mik.ua/manuals/hp-ux/en/5991-1247B/ch02s04.html

see this link for abit more info

Andy

In this generation there was a 4cell, 8 cell and 16 cell model, you have the 4 cell so you can create 4 nPars (but several vPars per nPar!).

Hi,
if the model shows sd16A, then you can have 4 cells active. Even if you have 8 slots, 4 can be used.
If you wants to use the remaining 4 cells (total of 8) you need to contact HP for changing the model number sd16A.

Thanks,
Shan

In order to use more cells the server must be upgraded into a sd32a or sd64a.

You need to replace the backplane of the SD16A to be able to use 8 Cells,

after backplane replacement HP support will change the system model to SD32A with a special lockword/password.
