I would suggest you first update the MP firmware to E.02.29 and check to see if it can prevent your web console problem. My MP configuration uses the MP console port 2023 and it works with IE 6.0 with no problem. OR if you can use the Netscape, try it too.

You mean this ??
+++++++++++++++++
LAN port access options:
[A] All access enabled - both Telnet and Web
[D] Disable LAN port - prevent Telnet and Web access
[T] Telnet only enabled
[W] Web only enabled

Please indicate the new mode for the LAN port,
or <CR> to retain current value. Choose one of (A, D, T, W): a
a
New LAN port access settings will be: All enabled

Confirm?
Firstly, your MP firmware is old. Current MP firmware revision is E.02.29. You can update it with HP-UX MP firmware patch PHSS_30679(11.22) or PHSS_30680. If your OS is Linux or Windows, you can download the other type of MP firmware E.02.29 on the web below.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=88839&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=447335&swEnvOID=54#2734

As for the troubleshooting, I would suggest you will ping your MP IP lan port first to see if it responds correctly. Secondly, you also can access the MP LAN console with the telnet. It appears you are using the IE browser for access like http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Try telnet://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx and you can telnet in to the MP LAN console. Also you may need to update the IE version. My IE is 6.0 and it works with no problem.

Lastly, if the telnet does not work correctly, try to use the cross over LAN cable and connect your PC to the MP LAN port directly, then access the MP LAN. If you have configured the MP LAN IP and have it enabled, it should work. In this case, it is better you chnage the gateway address of the MP LAN port to your MP LAN IP address temporariry for test.

Note: If you connect the MP LAN port to some switch, it may cause your problem and MP LAN speed may not be negotiated correctly. In this case, update yoyr MP firmware to E.02.29 first, then set the switch lan port speed to 10Mbps/fix. A few switch may not be able to negotiate the lan speed with the MP LAN port correctly.

Hope this help.
