Hi Admins

An RX5670 was rebooted and now the MP does not allow a console login. We can interact with the MP, execute the various commmands at the CM prompt, but after pressing CO, nothing. The CA command does report that the console type is set to VT100+.

Would this be caused by the incorrect setting in the EFI console selection "Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(0|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)"

After CO is typed, nothing happens at all...
Console login is through a serial cable.

MP firmware is currently at E.02.26.

Thanks
Delon
Hi Delon,

on an RX4640 i have the following setting in EFI Console "Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)". Of course same setting for input, output and stderr.

At OS prompt try this do get status of MP :
stty +queryGSP You sould get a "GSP is functional" answer.
(Well, may be driver will differ on an RX5670, /dev/GSPdiag2, ... ?)

You can try to reset MP with : stty +resetGSP
Have you the same behavor when you connect to the MP through the lan ?

Did you check that special file console is still OK ? It should be like this :
crw--w--w- 1 root sys 0 0x000000 Sep 28 17:59 /dev/console

Did you try something like "echo hello world >/dev/console". You should see the words on the asyncronous console and lan console ...

Well, many ways of investigation ;-)

Eric

(PBFWME;-)
