Hello,

i have an rx2600 running windows server 2003. Array A (36,4GB Disks *3 (Raid 5)) On Array A there is one logical drive 34731MB once migrated from a single disk. I never extended the logical volume. Is there a chance to go back to an Raid 1 Array? Delete one drive out of the array and then migrate to an Raid1? On this logical drive is the OS installed.

the Controller is a SmartArray 5300

Hi,

If the logical drive visible is of size of one disk then it should be a raid-1 array only. How did you founf it is raid-5 array?

Hi,

WE cannot have 3 disk in raid 1 that is sure. And migration from raid 5 to raid 1 not possible. Raid1 to Raid 5 is possible.

okay. first we had a mirror 2*36GB. By an accident we migrated the RAid1 to an Raid0. Then added a third Disk to the Array. But that was not the plan. So i couldnt remove the third disk again. My only option at this time was to migrate to an Raid5. Now i'm looking for a way to go back to my 2*36GB Array Raid1.

Does anybody know if there is an imaging software supportet under IA64? I could make an image an start with an new fresh array.

You said you have migrated from Raid 1 to raid 0 by mistake. Well I would have problemted for a information box there.
