I am trying to reset my MP card back to
its default Logins and Passwords.

I powered off the rx1620 and held in the
TOC (reset) button after re-applying power.

Then went to a laptop running a serial
communication program set at 9600 8 bits XON/XOFF.

I tried hitting return a few times and a
CTRL-B before 5 seconds and nothing happens.

It just goes to the menu using the non-default user/password:
MP login: HP Management Processor
Firmware Revision E.03.15 Feb 18 2005,20:09:34
MP login:

On an rx2600 the procedure produced something
like: warning only default users configured --
from which you could start over.

Is there something I am missing or something
else I can try?

Have a look at the DC command. There you can reset all user configurations (UC).

If you cannot remember your passwords, you should press the MPs reset button and watch the console. The system will ask you if you want to reset the passwords to the default.

No that's what I am saying:

Holding down the TOC button
with power on and as I apply power
never gives me a chance to reset...

The TOC (transfer of control) button has *nothing* to do with the MP configuration.

I'm sure the MP reset button is directly on the MP (behind the bezel).

Yes okay I found it.
It was inside one of the perforation holes
on the back.

Thanks for your help
