Assalamo Alaikum,

I've lost the MP Password of one of my rx4640 server. how can i access / reset without changing all other settings.

One more question, can I use this MP reset on my running machine. ie production server running OS. will this MP reset also resets my OS or it will not effect.

Hi,
I would recommend shutting down, as I have not had to use the reset button, so can't say for 100%.

The OS should not be impacted by the MP reset.

You can always try it on your test system first.

Wa-Alaikum Assalam,
Dear Iqbal,
You can reset Mp password by hitting the reset button on the back panel of the MP. After the MP reboots, the local console terminal will display a message for five seconds. Responding to this message in time will allow a local user to reset the passwords.

For your second question,MP reset will not impect on your OS.

i've found the reset botton on the back of my server.

i've still not done the exerise 'coz waiting for a downtime :).
