I have some trouble setting the correct console on a rx26000 Itanium server. There is a VGA display (hp1825) and a USB keyboard connected to it and I would like to use those as the console (so doing ctrl B, seeing the flow of all POST and other messages, ....). This does not work although I thought I selected the correct input, output and standard error devices :

Output & Error = Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(2|0)
Input = Apci(HWP0002,0)/Pci(1|1)

Should everything be deconnected from the management card and the serial ports or is there another problem ?

Thanks,
Bruno
Bruno,

The POST messages cannot be seen from the VGA screen. VGA BIOS is initialized at the end of POST (after a minute or so).
So you do not do anything wrong, POST messages can only be viewed from the console port.

Marco.
