Hi,

I am taking out the base cpu which is AB335A and I am putting in an AD123A. My machine works fine with the AB335A but when I put in the AD123A I get a processor error and it will not boot up.I have tried 2 different procs and I get the same error.I think I may have 2 bad procs because I have done this before with out any problems.I just wanted to run this by all of you incase I am missing something.

Thanks
Jon

How new are these AD123A's, and how long ago was it when you last swapped-in AD123A's?

The system firmware revision should be 3.17A or later.
Did you check the firmware version? MP>SR command reports it. See web doc, http://docs.hp.com/en/AD117-9009A/ch01s06.html#d0e759 .

The current firmware revision is 04.27. Can you anyway provide us your error message or MP SL entries that have the alert level bigger than 3? I am curious to know what error the system reports.
