Hi Experts,

I have an Integrity rx 2620 server. It had a default HP-UX OS installed on it (Version not known).

Then I have installed HP-UX 11i v2 FOE September 2006 (version B.11.23) on that server. Now i want to restore back my original OS installation.

Please note that i do not have any installation setup / CDs of the original software with me.

Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Biradar,

if your original installation is overwritten and you don't have a backup, you cannot restore it.
If you don't have any installation media, how should a new installation work?

You need to get new installation media or stay with your current installation.

BTW, I'm sure the original was at least 11.23 too, you should have a look at your printed installation report (delivered with the server) to get more information.

Hi Torsten,

Thanks for your reply.

I have a 11.23 installation media.
But HP did not provide any installation media with the Integrity rx 2620 server.

Also i do not know what was the original OS installation. What i want is a recovery of the original OS.

Is there any way to recover the origian OS?

Thanks
Biradar
As said above, check the print_manifest printout delivered with your server and install the same products from the install media you have.

Hi Torsten,

Unfortunately i do not have print a print manifest. I do have a documentation CD. But that does not talk any thing about the OS. I have one more server with defualt setup. I compared the swlist. It looks similar.

But still i can not install Oracle 10g on the the system. I am getting error in the log that says "INFO: ar: warning: the file nnfs.o is from an incompatible architecture".

I guess the OS is scrwed up (by me)...

Hi Torsten,

Thanks a lot buddy.
The link provided by you solved my problem.

My basic problem was unable to install Oracle on Integrity server.

It was indeed an issue with the installation CD.

Also there is no need to do an OS restore now.

Thanks
Biradar
It solved my root problem (Not able to install Oracle)

Things that are clear.

1. Recovery not possible without an installation media.

2. OS version is available in the print manifest.
