Hi,

you cannot use HP-UX 11i V1 on this server, you need a current version of

HP-UX 11i V2 or HP-UX 11i V3.
gurus,

I am physically conected to BL860 via terminal and I can get to "shell" prompt. Few commands I tried are:
-map
blk0: (i tried blk1 blk2 also)
hpux
boot vmunix

I tried using doc at http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90950/ch05s01.html#bjadedgh

but it is not helping, I am stuck at shell>. I am new to it also.

Does someone have command sequence so I can get into my unix server?
I am assuming it is preloaded with HPUX11i.

Thanks

Unless you see an fs#: then the EFI does not see any bootable devices.

Maybe the problem exists with the assumption that this is pre-loaded with HPUX ?

You can probably navigate to one or both block devices and look at the contents but if you can not list an EFI directory I would bet that the disk(s) have are blank.

Insert HPUX install DVD and start an install.

Hi,
I ran into another problem. I have a DVD-ROM attached now and I can see it when I run map command.

When I put HP-UX 11i V1 core OS cd in DVDROM and run install command at blk3: prompt, it does not work, error says "Invalid parameter" and "install not found".

Can you shed some light on it?

i had a few issues stopping me from installation:
1. BL860 did not come with HP-UX installed.
2. DVDROM I had was not compatible with HPUX so OS installation was not possible.

Thanks
