DC's stop seeing print Server

We are just trying to install the new LJ3390 with built in Network card. We have configured the card correctly but keep having a problem with the W2K3 Domain controller printers, which are the print servers, stopping being able to see the print server. It will ping the server quite happily and then just stop. We are using static IP addresses in the JetDirect setup. The card is seen correctly from non-DC servers and from PC's on the LAN, but the the DC's just seem to drop them after a period of time. Anyone got any ideas.

Are you running Windows 2003R2? If so it has the PMC (Print Management Console) which really centralizes printer & print server management.
Is this Group Policy set for all defaults as far as printers are concerned?
Since it appears as if AD (Active Directory) does see the printer/printer server, then later loses it, I am assuming you have published the printer in Active Directory by completing these steps:
1. From Control Panel - Printers & Faxes, right-click the printer.
2. Go to Share tab. SElect Share this Printer, provide a name for the printer share
3. Select checkbox for List in Directory. Then Ok.
Is the JetDirect card on the same subnet as the DC? Do you have more then one AD site involved here?
Printers and printing still has to be one of the most time-consuming tasks to troubleshoot!
