    <description>Max CPU for Proliant 3000 is Pentium-600&lt;BR /&gt;It will not work with Pentium-1000 CPU (because motherboard support only P-600)&lt;BR /&gt;Also, if you want to upgrade from P-500 to P-600 you probably need to replace Processor Power Module (PPM) as well.</description>

      <title>proliant 3000 processor upgrade</title>

      <description>I have had a proliant 3000 donated to me. It might be a decent machine if I can upgrade the CPU's. It currently has dual PIII 500's. In the manuals it looks like this is max. Has anyone been successful going higher? I have seen PIII 1gigs going for under $50 so this would be a cheap upgrade. This was for standard slot 1's. I assume it might be harder to get matched ones. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I also didn't see anything about using ECC memory. Is this correct?</description>

      <description>Wow, PL3000 huh?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We are stacking up DL360 G1s with anything from Single P3-800 all the way to Dual P3-1266 just for spare parts.  I think currently I have approc 22 DL360 G1s stacked up under a table here.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can I ask what you plan to use the PL3000 for?  Because now-a-days an "old" P4 Desktop has more power, requires less electricity and produces less noise.</description>
