Remote Desktop Problem

Hi,
I have a ProLiant DL380 with Win2003 Storage Server Configured as SMA. It is with SP1, the problem is that when I try to access Remote Desktop it gives an error message(See the attached file). I have checked all the settings firewall is off, even changed the IP but problem still persists. We can access the server through VNC, and even get the Remote Desktop of other machines from this server.

Have you set the netmask of 10.112.28.111 to 255.255.252.0 ?

Yes,
the subnet is 255.255.252.0 and gateway is 10.112.28.1.

hi,

try this:

netstat -an|find "3389"

Remote Desktop Service listen the port 3389 by default. Use this command to check if the service is started.

Make sure you have Remote Desktop enabled, if the service is turned on, but the not enables, you may get this error.

right click on My computer and goto Properties.

Click on the Remote Tab

Make sure the "Enable Remote Desktop on the computer" is checked.

If this is an AD domain, the user must be a Domain Admin or explicitly named in the System Properties section having to do with Remote Desktop.

Yes it is enabled from My computer, and administrator is added into it...

I know you checked the firewall off on the Windows 2003 server, but is there a firewall between the two systems?

No there is as such no firewall. It is important to tell you here that one of my colleague has installed the same DL 380 G5 Storage Server Machine as an SMA, and even after configuring the RDP settings he is aslo unable to connect to its Remote Desktop. So this might be the reason that we cant't access RDP on the server.
