Upgrading Memory

I have a Proliant ML530 G2 running Windows 2003 Ent SP1 and I have just upgraded the memory from 3GB to 16GB. I believe I also upgraded to the latest bios cp005061? The problem is the server can see the 16GB on bootup and in the bios but OS can't it just reads 3.5GB and I don't believe it is working fully becasue of it. Does anyone know how to change this?

You need to tell Windows to use Physical Address Extension. See http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEdrv.mspx

Hi Chris,

It can support upto 8 processors and 64 GB RAM but for this you need to get PAE enable in Boot.ini file.
