Hi all,

I have just installed windows 2003 on an lh3 with an integrated hp netraid adapter,

The server runs fine, until you shut it down..
i get a lot of errors saying delayed write.. and this in the event log.

Application popup: Windows - Delayed Write Failed : Windows was unable to save all the data for the file C:\$BitMap. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

It sounds like the raid array is shutting down before windows or its not saving the cache..

i am running the latest firmware and bios

any help would be appreciated as i would like to get this server deployed.

many thanks

nick

Howdy Nick,

You might want to try patching Windows 2003 as fully as possible. I did find this when I searched google.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812937

I hope it helps!

Jason

Hello Nick, as I posted on the Netserver forum, we found solution to our problem (same as yours but with an lh4). Windows 2003 seems to have compatibility problems with HP NetRaid assistant. By installing the latest Windows 2000 NetRaid Drivers from HP (replacing the Microsoft driver version) it worked fine. Hope this will help you too.
Cheers

Hi to all,

I experience the same problem.
I have tried to install the win 2000 hp netraid driver, but the installation fail saying that "there isn't a driver better than that are already installed".

I remember just after 2003 installation end, I installed the netraid assistant and then I remove it.
If somebody can confirm me that the problem is only the compatibility with this utility, I could reformat the server now, before install any othr service.

Thank you in advance,

Ugo
